A Company For The 21st Century In the year 2004 Acco turned 100 years old. We look forward with confidence to the new century and reflect with pride on our past. Here are a few of the milestones in Acco's history: 1904- WeedChain Tire Grip Company established in New York City. 1912- The weldless chain business of Oneida Community Ltd., acquired. American Chain Company formed, and moved to Bridgeport, CT. 1913- Dominion Chain Co., Ltd., Ontario, Canada, acquired. 1915- Parsons Chain Co., Ltd., Stourport, England, acquired. 1920- Page Fence, Page Welding and Reading Steel Casting, acquired. 1925- American Cable Co., Wilkes-Barre, PA, acquired. 1927- Wright Manufacturing Co., Lisbon, OH, acquired. 1930- Hazard Wire Rope Co., Wilkes-Barre, PA, acquired. 1937- Cable Controls Division established in Adrian, MI. 1954- The Bristol Co., Waterbury, CT and Ontario, Canada, acquired. 1965- Mansaver Ind., Mech. Handling Sys., Louden McHy., acquired. 1972- Vac-U-Lift Div. Of Lear Siegler, Welland Forge Ltd., Can. Acquired. 1975- Acco acquired by Babcock & Wilcox Ltd., London, England. The resulting company became one of the world's largest. 1987- Acco and certain other holdings of Babcock International were acquired by FKI plc, West Yorkshire, England. FKI plc is an international manufacturing group making many of the inconspicuous, but essential, items that everyone takes for granted at home and at work. 1995- Amdura Corporation, consisting of The Crosby Group, Inc. And The Harris Waste Management Group, Inc., was acquired by FKI. The Crobsy Group, headquartered in Tulsa, OK, designs and manufactures lifting equipment, hardware and accessories. The Harris Waste Management Group, headquartered in Peachtree City, GA, manufactures and markets equipment for plastic, paper, ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metal processing. 2003- Acquired Trambeam Corporation.
