Business overview

ASICentrum is a dynamic young company providing its customers all over the world with design services and complete turn-key solutions to any electronic system design requirement. Established in 1992, ASICentrum emerged as a continuation of the late Microelectronics Division of the state-funded Research Institute, TESLA VUST Praha. Design and IC production co-operation is our fundamental focus. Since 1996, ASICentrum is also the software distributor of Mentor Graphics, an international EDA company, for the Czech and Slovak Republics. We have participated in the development of a wide variety of ICs in the fields of Telecommunications, Industrial Applications as well as Consumer Electronics. Continuous investment in both HW and SW design tools puts ASICentrum up to date with the most advanced development standards, making it possible to handle complex projects in digital, analog and mixed-signal domains. The broad range of ASIC experience and competency in leading edge design techniques enables ASICentrum to offer a turn-key solution to any electronic system need. To assure acces to the latest up-to-date technologies in the field of design and production of ICs, ASICentrum has established contacts with many foreign partners, ranging from IT companies to universities. ASICentrum also takes active part in several international projects organized by the EU, which bring together European high-tech companies in an effort to research new progressive ways of designing complex ICs and SoCs. In 2001, 51% of ASICentrum has been acquired by EM Microelectronic, located in Marin, Switzerland, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swatch group.
