Business overview

My name is Robert Jeppesen. I started this company in May 2003 although the name Durius has been a brand name of mine since 1999. Back then I launched this site, where I offer Java applets for download. These applets became quite popular and site traffic was growing in excess of 10.000 hits a day! A while after releasing the applets I joined a consulting company called MindCom AB, where I worked as a software development consultant for about four years. I learned a lot at MindCom AB, both technical and non-technical. The technical stuff I would have gotten on my own so that's not all that interesting. No; what was interesting was that being a consultant I gained the very important ability to see business solutions instead of just technical solutions. I learned that while mastering the technical side is still very important, its useless if you don't fully understand the client's needs and the business problem at hand. MindCom went bankrupt in February 2004. I had already started my company at this time, but I was not active in it. I had the choice of getting employment in some similar company or try to make it on my own. I had been thinking about running my own company for quite a while, and the timing was perfect so I decided to take my chances. So this is when I started making a living off of Durius. It was not an easy decision but I don't regret it for one second! After that, I have been working with former clients from my time at MindCom as well as new clients and things are looking very good.
