He co-founded and was CEO of Metallurgical Industries, a manufacturer of stainless steel and other iron, nickel and cobalt base powders and refractory metals and a Federal Aviation repair station for 33 years. He is the holder of six patents in metallurgy and turbine components. He is the founder of the Refractory Metals Association and served two terms as its president and served on the Board of Governors of the Metal Powder Industries Federation. He is the president of Material Technologies, Inc. (www.Mtipm.Com), a twelve year old company based in Red Bank, NJ, engaged in the development and commercialization of powder metal technologies to make high density, high performance parts. He is a co-inventor of ANPTM. Richard R. Phillips, a co-inventor of ANPTM, is a metallurgical engineer and owner of Engineered Pressed Materials (EPM) of St. Marys and Ridgway, PA. EPM is a manufacturer of powder metal components and a developer of P/M designed materials processes and products. EPM develops and sells ANPTM parts. He has Masters Degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology. He served in several positions including Manufacturing Metallurgist, Engineering Mechanical Engineer, and Manager of Material Sciences for Pitney Bowes, Inc.In Stanford, CT for 23 years.He has founded and managed several powder metallurgy companies as CEO, president and owner.
