SternLife is a member of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe, a group of companies specializing in foods and food ingredients. In order to position ourselves successfully in the growing market for food supplements we established SternLife in 1998 as a specialist company for the development, production and packaging of functional foods: Food for Life! Our mission We started with lecithin, the unrivalled active substance derived from soybeans. Our technologists now concentrate on developing various food supplements for sale by our own company and for manufacture on a contract basis. The segment A to Z solutions for private labels has undergone particularly dynamic development. SternLife takes on the development, production and compounding of these preparations, which are mainly in powder form, and their filling in consumer packs. We offer the whole chain of services ? from the purchase of raw materials through quality control and storage to dispatch. Product development Most of our applications research takes place at the newly-built Technology Centre of the Stern-Wywiol Gruppe in Ahrensburg, near Hamburg. In recent years, nutrition science has entered a new phase of research in which the effect of food ingredients is investigated on the molecular level. One of the important findings is that non-essential substances as well as essential nutrients regulate metabolic processes in the body?s cells. That is why our technologists regard themselves as ?food designers? : the objective of their research work is to create food supplements with a pleasant taste, against the background of the complex effects of essential nutrients, bioactive substances and secondary vegetable substances.
