What is a tact switch?

A tact switch is an on/off  electronic switch that only has to be touched by an object to operate. It's the simplest kind of tactile sensor, the structure of a touch switch from the top down, panel, button, shrapnel, pedestal, pins, the button is the place that external force exerting force through the cover board, the shrapnel is the core component of a touch switch, the pin refers to the connection between the light touch switch and the circuit. There are five pins of a switch, two pins as a group, the fifth pin plays a role of grounding function.Four pins lead through as the force to the switch, four pins do not connect in pairs when there is no external force pressure,at this point the switch is closed.

What is a push button switch?

The structure of a push button switch is generally composed of button cap, reset spring, bridge type dynamic contact, static contact, pillar link and shell, when the button is not under the action of external force, the contact can be divided into start button (normally open button), stop button (normally closed button) and compound button(A button that combines a normally closed contact with an normally open contact),For the start button, the contact is closed when the button cap is pressed, and the contact automatically disconnects the reset after release, while for the stop button, the contact is separated when the cap is pressed, and the contact automatically closes the reset after release. The push button switch is simple in construction and the switch is generally used in consumer electronics, instrument equipment, communication equipment, computer peripheral products, etc.

What is the difference between the tact switch and the push button switch?

The operating mode of the tact switch and the push button switch is similar, the stroke of the two is different, the stroke of the push button switch is longer than the tact switch. The tact switch can change the state of the switch contact without using much force to contact. After the switch power is withdrawn, it can only remain in the original state.
